A Simple Approach to Living With Less

No Room for Excuses in a Fresh Tomorrow

I don’t really do New Year’s Resolutions. I do enjoy reflecting on the previous year, contemplating goals for the upcoming year, and tossing in a few long-term dreams as well. I like Courtney’s concept of making a “Love List” of the things you’d love to do or start doing in the new year.

The reason I don’t really care for making resolutions is that they often come in the form of lofty goals that just set us up for failure. The resolutions often include unrealistic expectations or impossible time frames. It’s a lot of pressure staring a brand new year in the face trying to figure out ways to make it better than the year before.

What I love about a new year is the fresh feeling if gives you. You may already be in the middle of a big project at work and the kids are in the middle of their school year, but a new year still carries with it a sense of expectancy and greatness.

Tomorrow is always fresh, with no mistakes in it. – L.M. Montgomery

This is one of my favorite quotes and it’s perfect for looking forward to a new year.

Every day of this new year is a fresh tomorrow.

  • You don’t need to make excuses for mistakes in a fresh tomorrow.
  • There’s no need to rationalize your choices in a fresh tomorrow.
  • There are no failures in a fresh tomorrow.
  • You haven’t blown your diet in a fresh tomorrow.
  • You have the opportunity to make something brilliant in a fresh tomorrow.

Whether you want to declutter, get healthy, or finally start that project you’ve been dreaming about for so long you have a fresh tomorrow to make it a reality.

What will you do with your tomorrow?
