I thought it would be helpful to create a resource page that includes my favorite minimalism related books and blogging tools.
I’ll be adding to this page in the future, so keep checking if you’re looking for something specific.
Please note: Some of the links below are affiliate links to products that will earn me a commission. These are all things that I have experience with and personally use. I am recommending because they are helpful and are companies that I trust, not because of the commissions that I may earn from you using these products.
Blogging & Hosting
WordPress.org – I love WordPress and it’s no wonder it’s the #1 Blog Publishing Platform. It is literally limitless in its capabilities. WordPress is totally free with wonderful support. All of my blogs use WordPress.
WordPress Plugins – Download any plugins, widgets, or customizable elements for your WordPress blog.
Thesis – I spend a lot of time designing websites and I always come back to Thesis for its awesome performance. Whether you use it straight out of the box or uniquely customized, it is the most powerful theme I have seen. It has built-in SEO awesomeness and a fabulous support forum. It’s incredibly popular for countless reasons whether used for personal or business sites.
GoDaddy – We buy all our domain names through GoDaddy. At last count, we have 21 domain names through GoDaddy. We have not found a more affordable and high quality alternative for domain name registration.
Lunar Pages – We’ve been using Lunar Pages since 2002 and we have zero complaints. Their customer service is excellent. One time I managed to crash my blog and the Lunar Pages rep helped troubleshoot what I did and got me back online super fast.
Publishing & Selling
E-Junkie – A shopping cart for selling digital products. It’s compatible with all the major payment gateways. Very low price to use and also comes with a nice affiliate program for your products. You can also sign up as an affiliate for other people’s products and make commissions selling other people’s products.
PayPal – It’s pretty close to impossible to work in a world of buying and selling digital products without having a PayPal account. If you don’t have a PayPal account, just bite the bullet and sign up now.
Lulu – Don’t want to go for a digital products? Lulu is a great place to self-publish your book, make calendars, photo books, and more. I’ve helped publish five different books through Lulu and it’s a great service.
